The 15th Chekhov Theatre Festival has started in Moscow with a performance by the famous Spanish theatre ‘La Fura dels Baus’, RIA Novosti reports.
It is noted that the Chekhov Festival is a large-scale creative forum that brings together experienced masters, famous groups, and talented youth who are taking their first steps to gain professional experience.
The artistic director of the ‘La Fura dels Baus’ theatre, Carlus Padrissa, appears in the stage version of Joseph Haydn‘s oratorio “The Creation” as a stage director and author of scenography. The State Moscow Chamber Choir of Vladimir Minin and Russia State Symphony Orchestra named after Svetlanov also take part in the creation of the performance.
The performance by ‘La Fura dels Baus’ is an oratorio of the 21st century, of the era of high technologies and colossal multimedia possibilities. It uses a nine-metre crane, 36 huge helium balloons, a thousand-litre aquarium, and the rest is all light covering the space of the hall.
