Today: Capital’s Parks Open Winter Season

The winter entertainment season starts in the parks of the capital this Friday, November 22. Traditionally, visitors enjoy ice shows, master classes and musical performances.

The first updated cultural and entertainment program was presented in Gorky Park. Six pavilions in red, blue, pink and turquoise colours are placed on the Gorky rink. There are also 23 foodservice outlets. This winter the rink occupies about 20 thousand square meters; about six thousand people can be on it. The site was called “Sunrise”.

On the same day, the largest ice skating rink in Europe was opened at VDNKh with a parade of astronauts, a dance flash mob and an air show. It stretches on the Central Alley – from Pavilion No. 1 “Central” to Pavilion No. 58 “Agriculture”. Its area together with the infrastructure is  53 thousand square meters and the area of ​​artificial ice cover – 20.5 thousand.

The skating rink includes three sites. In total, 4.5 thousand people can ride them. In other parks, winter infrastructure is available on Saturday, November 23.
