The press secretary of the Russian Union of Tourism Industry, Irina Tyurina, named available foreign destinations for Russian tourists for a beach holiday this May.
The expert noted that, despite the closure of many destinations, there are currently a number of states where Russian travellers can still fly. For example, Turkey, Egypt, UAE, Maldives, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Seychelles, Thailand, Indonesia, and Jordan.
“Tourists safely fly to the Maldives, Sri Lanka, the UAE and return without problems. There, tour operators have the usual problems with a shortage of seats in popular hotels and rising ticket prices,” Tyurina said, adding that the island of Bali, where Russians have started booking summer tours, is also popular.
According to her, mass cancellations of vouchers have not yet been recorded, although the level of sales has noticeably decreased in comparison with the period up to February 24.
