The authorities of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (Yamal) predict an increase in tourist flow to the region in 2021 by more than 20 per cent, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the Department of Youth Policy and Tourism of the territory.
The department stated that in 2021 more than 160 thousand tourists are expected to arrive in Yamal. According to the forecast of the Federal Tourism Agency, the recovery of the volume of domestic tourism is expected by the second half of 2022. In total, 63 travel agencies operate in the region.
It is also noted that in 2020, 36 Yamal travel agents and three tour operators received subsidies for reimbursement of costs in the total amount of just over 3.5 million rubles. Under the terms of this support measure, tour operators could receive up to 200 thousand rubles, and travel agencies can count on up to 100 thousand rubles.
