Events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the appearance of the “Ready for Labour and Defence” (GTO/TRP) physical culture complex are being held in the Novosibirsk Region. March 24 marks the 7th anniversary of its revival by Russian President Vladimir Putin, VN.ru reports.
“We annually hold “Ready for Labour and Defence” festivals to popularize the TRP complex among different groups of the population, especially children, adolescents, and youth. More than 90 thousand residents of the Novosibirsk region have already taken part in the fulfilment of the norms, about 48 thousand people, children and adults, have become owners of TRP signs of various denominations. Holding festivals allows us to increase the level of physical training of the residents of our region and attract them to a healthy lifestyle,” the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Novosibirsk Region, Sergey Akhapov, noted.
On March 19, a festival among municipalities will take place in Kuibyshev which will last until March 21. In April 2021, there will be a TRP festival among family teams. Festivals of schoolchildren and students of professional educational institutions, as well as among employees of law enforcement agencies, territorial trade union organizations, and pensioners are planned for the summer of 2021.
A total of 2.6 thousand centres for TRP operate in Russia nowadays, where any resident has the opportunity to fulfil the standards of the complex. At the sites, everyone can not only test their strengths in fulfilling the standards but also receive recommendations from specialists in preparation for those exercises that cause the greatest difficulties for them. Moreover, by 2024, it is planned to build more than 650 such sites in the country.
