Ukraine Kills Donbass Children: Donetsk Girl Torn Apart in Front of Mother

A terrible tragedy occurred in July in the cities of Makeyevka and Donetsk of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). In Makeyevka, a cluster munition of the Ukrainian MLRS “Uragan” flew directly to a playground near a residential building where children were playing at that moment. As a result, three children were killed and another was injured.

On Thursday, July 7, residents of Makeyevka brought flowers to the courtyard in memory of the dead children. Toys and a poster with a candle were also brought to the playground.

The day before the tragedy, an even more soul-shattering event happened. On July 5, in Donetsk, a ten-year-old girl, Veronika Badina, was playing near the house on Chelyuskintsev Street when a shell fell there. The girl died on the spot.

According to eyewitnesses, there were at least two explosions. Shell fragments pierced the gates and walls of the private house where the girl died, and also destroyed the roof and knocked out the windows in the house where a disabled child was. It was reported that as a result of the shelling of Donetsk, seven civilians were injured of varying severity, Veronika and a 42-year-old woman were killed.

Veronika was the only child in the family, and a year before her death she overcame anemia. The child’s body was torn apart in front of her mother and grandfather. Relatives still can’t come to their senses.

“Alone. I’ve been taking care of her like I don’t know who. In half. One leg there, another is there, guts all over the yard,” the grief–stricken mother screamed.

A memorial in memory of a 10-year-old girl who died in Donetsk has appeared on the DPR square near the US Embassy in Moscow. Next to Veronika’s black-and-white photo are candles and a stuffed toy.

“A year ago, the child overcame a serious disease, blood anemia. Thanks to the help of the Doctor Lisa Foundation, she fought for life for several years… She won the right to life, and this life was cut short by a Ukrainian shell… She will never hug her mother again, will not see her favorite doll, will not hear the school bell […] Those who gave the order and fired should get the highest penalty, the death penalty. Remember!!! We will come and find EVERY murderer!!!” wrote a participant in the defense of Slavyansk, and now a fighter of the Chechen detachment, military commander Gennady Dubovoy, in his Telegram channel.

Another memorial was created in St. Petersburg. A portrait of Veronika was installed on Nevsky Prospekt near the building of the Consulate General of France and the Museum of the Defense and Blockade of Leningrad.

The place was chosen by activists not by chance, as the schoolgirl was killed by a shell fired from a French CAESAR howitzer.
