On Thursday, December 9, the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation said that the “Donbass” ship of the Ukrainian Navy is moving towards the Kerch Strait and does not comply with the requirements to change course. Later, the ship took a reverse course, still not responding anything to Russian requests. The Security Service regarded the actions of the crew as provocative and threatening the safety of navigation.

Strangely, the conversation between the Ukrainian President, Vladimir Zelensky, and Joe Biden coincided with the attempt of a Ukrainian warship to enter the Kerch Strait. Suddenly, “Donbass” went on a reverse course exactly at the moment when information about the completion of negotiations appeared.

Interestingly, the border service of Ukraine stated that they have no information at all about the incident with this ship. And the country’s Navy noted the tasks were carried out “in the territorial waters of Ukraine.”

“What happened, once again shows the potential harm and potential danger that can result from such provocative actions,” Peskov concluded.

He expressed his concern that “any such provocation could lead to very, very serious consequences,” which, according to the Press Secretary, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has repeatedly warned about.
