The American authorities unilaterally stopped interacting with the Kremlin on the topic of discussing information security issues, as reported by Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Oleg Khramov, on May 18, 2022.
“The White House predictably unilaterally stopped interacting with the Kremlin and refused to further discuss information security issues,” Khramov said.
He also pointed out Washington’s unwillingness to consolidate efforts to create a global information security system.
On April 18, Russian Ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, said that Russia and the US are no longer partners. He noted that when he came to Washington, his task was to improve relations, but now it is to try to stabilize them.
On March 24, the Special Representative of the President of Russia for international cooperation in the field of information security, Andrei Krutskikh, said that Russia remains open to dialogue and cooperation with the US on information security. According to him, Moscow and Washington bear a special responsibility for maintaining global peace and security, that is why Russia has offered American partners to lay the foundations for bilateral cooperation in the cyber sphere.
