Two Russian-built patrol ships of the Vietnamese Navy (the 11661E Gepard-3.9 project) have arrived in Vladivostok to take part in the International Army Games, TASS reports with reference to the Head of the press service of the Pacific Fleet, Captain 3rd Rank Ilya Kolesnikov.

“Two ships of the Navy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam participating in the Sea Cup naval training competition within the framework of the International Army Games ArMI-2021 were solemnly greeted at the berth,” Kolesnikov said.
According to him, the crews moored at berth 33, after which the chief judge of the international competition “Sea Cup”, Captain 1st Rank Gennady Poddubny, and the Head of the Vietnamese delegation, Senior Captain 1st Rank Trinh Xuan Tung, met. It is specified that on July 25, 2021, the same ships took part in the celebration of the Day of the Russian Navy in Vladivostok.
It is noted that the International Army Games 2021 will be held from August 22 to September 4, 2021. During this period of time, it is planned to hold 34 international competitions with the maximum expansion of the geography of their holding to 15 countries (invitations to participate in the games were sent to the military departments of 95 countries).
Earlier, it was mentioned that about 20 states were considering the possibility of holding the ARMI-2021 contests, namely, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, India, Israel, China, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Sri Lanka, dfnc reports.
