Athletes from St. Petersburg won awards at the Russian Sambo Championship and the Russian Judo Cup (the sport for the blind).
Competitions among visually impaired athletes were held in Moscow and Ramenskoye. The northern capital was represented by Dmitry Samokhvalov, Alexander Semenov, Yevgeny Krivopolenov, as reports the Charity Fund in support of the development of sports for the disabled “The Point of Support”.
“Of course, we are not going to stop here. We plan to improve the results already at the next competitions, which will be held in February 2020. And also we are going to take part in international sambo competitions in May. It is possible that next year the Russian Sambo Championship of the Blind will be held in St. Petersburg, this will serve as a good motivation for our athletes to achieve high results,” said Dmitry Samokhvalov.
Dmitry Samokhvalov managed to get silver in the judo tournament in the weight category up to 60 kg, and Alexander Semyonov won bronze in sambo competitions in the weight category up to 62 kg.
