Vladimir Putin Congratulated Russians on Defender of Fatherland Day 

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the Russians on Defender of the Fatherland Day and noted the importance of ensuring the country’s defence capability.

“Dear comrades, today ensuring the defence capability of our country remains the most important task of the state, and the armed forces serve as a reliable guarantee of national security, the peaceful and calm life of our citizens, the stable, progressive development of Russia,” the head of state said.

He noted that the international situation is quite difficult nowadays pointing to the loosening of the arms control system and the military activity of the NATO bloc. However, the head of state noted that in recent years much has been done to modernize the went on assuring that the armed forces of the country have become more mobile and proved that they are able to solve “the most complex tasks.”

“We will continue to develop promising weapons systems, including hypersonic and based on new physical principles, to expand the use of advanced digital technologies and elements of artificial intelligence. Such systems are real weapons of the future, which significantly increase the combat potential of our armed forces,” he added.

Putin also noted the personal qualities of Russian servicemen, such as patriotism, resilience, dedication, mutual assistance. Besides, he highlighted the role of a commander, which, in his opinion, is essential.

“Our officer corps is not only the backbone, foundation and core of the army and navy, they are people, sincerely devoted to Russia and their military duty,” the President stressed.

Putin wished good health and success in their service to all those defending Russia, as well as their families, relatives, and friends.

“Dear friends, as the Supreme Commander, I am confident in you, in the soldiers and officers of Russia! In your high professionalism, courage, and reliability, that you will protect the peace and tranquillity of our citizens, defend the national interests of our great country!” he concluded.
