Russia’s new “Vostochny” cosmodrome has set a record for the number of launch vehicle launches in a year, RIA Novosti reports.
It is specified that in total, in 2021, three launches were organized from the Vostochny cosmodrome. These were on March 25, April 26, and May 28. The fourth launch is planned for July 1, 2021. Prior to that, a maximum of two launches were carried out from the new cosmodrome per year.
It is reminded that the cosmodrome began its work in 2016. During this time, 9 launches were carried out from it, including one emergency in 2017. In general, one launch was carried out annually from the new cosmodrome (with the exception of 2018, when two launches were made).
