VTB, whose application was removed from the AppStore and Google Play after the sanctions were imposed, is launching an online bank in the Telegram messenger. The new digital bank will be created on the basis of the existing VTB chatbot in Telegram. The service will be available to owners of smartphones of all operating systems.
At this stage, with the help of the new service, a client will be able to check the balance of his cards and accounts in VTB, transfer money through the Quick Payment System and replenish the mobile phone account. Then you will receive payment by QR code and the ability to generate a QR code, transaction history, transfers between your accounts, batch payment of bills, transfer of me2me from your card in another bank to a card in VTB. By the end of 2023, Telegram customers will have access to all everyday banking services, as well as the release of some digital products.
“Last year, mobile versions of Russian banks were removed from many app stores. Therefore, creating an alternative as close as possible to online banking has become a strategically important task for us. The implementation of a new digital service in Telegram is a unique development for the Russian and global financial market, combining convenience and security,” the VTB Board member, Svyatoslav Ostrovsky, said.
According to VTB, the speed of daily operations through the new service will more than double. At the same time, conducting operations via Telegram does not involve the transfer of client data to the messenger servers. A unique 5-factor protection is implemented to protect client operations.
