The second stage of the Russian Sailing Cup in Olympic yacht classes and the Sochi regatta have come to an end in Sochi. More than 300 athletes from 19 regions of the country came to the competition. According to the results of the competition, the Primorye athletes won two gold and one bronze medals, the press service of the regional government reports.
According to the regional ministry of physical culture and sports, in the second stage of the Russian Cup in the 49th class, the third place was taken by the Complex Sports School of the Olympic Reserve team of athletes (Konstantin Nosov and Alexander Gaidaenko; coaches Mikhail Utkin, Denis Gaidaenko). In the Laser-Standard class, the winner was the athlete of the Sports Training Centre Daniil Krutskikh (coaches: Diana and Vladimir Krutskikh, Mikhail Utkin).
It is noted that in March 2020, Daniil Krutskikh won gold at the World Championship and became the only one of eight Russian yachtsmen to take a prize. The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, sent a congratulatory telegram to the winner.
The next major starts, in which Primorye residents will take part, are the All-Russian competition in Taganrog, where the selection for international regattas will take place. Also currently, an athlete of the Primorsky Territory Sports Training Centre, two-time Russian champion Maria Kislukhina (coach Mikhail Utkin) is preparing for the European Championship in Bulgaria. These starts will be the qualifiers for the Olympic Games.
