Yakutia Authorities to Allocate Over 1 Billion Rubles for Science Development

The authorities of Yakutia will allocate more than 1 billion rubles to finance the state programme for the development of science until 2024, according to the Head of the region, Aisen Nikolaev, speaking at a plenary session of the “Universities and the Development of Geostrategic Territories of Russia” forum, TASS reports.  

The forum is held at the initiative of the North-Eastern Federal University, the largest higher educational institution in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. The event is supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the government of Yakutia.

It is noted that the state programme is aimed at supporting and developing regional research centres, carrying out research and development in priority areas of socio-economic development, the development of the Arctic and the creation of the World Mammoth Centre, as well as the formation of the development of the scientific world-class educational system.
