The team of the Russian company ‘Yandex’, together with the ‘Grubhub’ American food delivery service, launched a food delivery robot at the main campus of the Ohio State University in Columbus, iXBT reports.
It is noted that the campus in Columbus is one of the largest in the United States (more than 60 thousand students live and study there). So, 50 Yandex robots will deliver food to students and teachers of the city’s state university every day from 9 am to 9 pm. The robots will be able to deliver the order to the academic building, dormitory, or even library. It is specified that one can deliver both a small snack and a full dinner.
It is reminded that Yandex and Grubhub signed a cooperation agreement in June 2021. In total, Grubhub serves more than 250 campuses in the United States. The university campus in Columbus became the first one where the company’s orders are brought by robots. It is expected that later, robots will appear in other places too.
