The youngest participant in the superfinal of the women’s championship of Russia, Yekaterinburg chess player Leya Garifullina, became one of the three leaders, according to the press service of the Chess Federation of the Sverdlovsk Region.

In the 7th round, Garifullina became the first participant who managed to take points away from the sole leader, the grandmaster from Orsk and international master among women (2016) Polina Shuvalova. The game between them ended in a draw on the 43rd move after repeating the position three times. In the eighth round, Leya defeated the Woman FIDE Master (WFM) Tatyana Getman and won the game gaining 5.5 points out of 8 possible.
